About Me

Currently designing @ Full Sail University

👋 Hey there, i’m Melissa Charles

A UX/UI Product Designer based in Florida, currently designing at Full Sail University, seamlessly creating and designing products for our students and faculty. Growing up I always wanted to help people, and being a UX Designer allows me to do just that. I love being creative and always trying to find new and innovative ways to solve a user's problems. I also love being able to be a voice for people that do not always get to be heard or tend to be overlooked.

How do I work?

My preferred work methodology would have to be the double diamond design framework, because it provides the ability to continuously iterate during the journey while solving problems. I feel equally comfortable drafting a research plan and interviewing subjects, as I do creating prototypes and building pixel-perfect design systems.

Great work is built through strong collaboration. Over the course of my career, I’ve worked with talented professionals across a variety of teams, and here’s what some of them have shared about working with me.

Nick Gissal

Faculty Development Trainer

Melissa, A big congratulations to you for launching the One Roundtable Space on Full Sail One! I'm proud of you for creating an innovative way for members of the Full Sail community to contribute to the development of the digital campus spaces at the university. Your work is a big reminder to me on how I can strive for clarity, empowerment, responsiveness, transparency, and stewardship in my own work.

Jeff Ward

Director of Product Experience

Melissa continues to be a steady and valued contributor across both the LMS and Full Sail One design teams. Over the past year, she has expanded her impact through improved communication, proactive problem-solving, and a thoughtful approach to design. Her contributions to projects such as Common Profile, Pendo Tours, Groups v2, and Settings enhancements demonstrate her growing fluency with products and user experiences. She also co-led efforts to improve our prototyping practices, helping stakeholders and the broader product teams better understand UX intent and interactions

Rebecca Lorick

Project Manager, Full Sail One

Melissa has been with Full Sail for nearly two years, and her growth has been impressive. She has played a key role in the V2 release launch design, taken on more design requests, and consistently offers valuable feedback. Her cheerful personality and creative spirit contribute significantly to our team's positive atmosphere.
